LESSON PLAN ENGLISH FOR YOUNG LEARNERS

At the end of the lesson, student are expected to be able to describe the function of the body parts by using action verbs, as the examples below:

ACTIVITY
Warmer (5’)
Greeting students with fun greet. And asking the students whether they have learnt about part of body or not in the previous grade.

Presentation (25’)
Ø  T sings the song. The title of the song: The Parts of Body (see attachment for song lyrics.)
Ø  T repeats singing the song several times until the students get the idea of the song. To make it easier for the students, T demonstrates the parts of body with her body.
Ø  T asks all students to sing together.
Ø  Having finished with the song, T then introduces the scene setting.
Ø  Scene-setting:
T points her part of body. Then, T asks the students to say the body parts correctly. Next, T writes the list vocabularies of body parts on the whiteboard. After awhile, T says the word where students have to follow it while reading.
Ø  T chooses some students and asks them to show their parts of body.
Ø  Then, T gives worksheet exercise (see attachment) to make sure that students have known about parts of body.
Ø  After finishing it, T collects the the worksheet.
Ø  Later, T teaches about action verbs which is the functions of body parts beforehand.
Ø  T elicits the target language. T asks the students about what the functions of the part of body, and at the same time T showing the action verbs.
-          T      : What can we do with head?
-          S      : We think with head
-          T      : What can we do with eyes?
-          S      : We see with eyes
Ø  Then, T writes the list vocabularies of action verbs on the whiteboard. Later, T says the word where students have to follow it while reading.
Ø  T chooses several students and asks them to demonstrate the action verbs.
Ø  After that, T gives worksheet exercise about several of action verbs (see attachment) to make sure that students have done about it.
Ø  At the end, T gives the some sentences as an example on the whiteboard which includes the parts of body and action verbs.
Practice (20’)
Making the sentences consist of the parts of body and its functions by using the action verbs.
